How to book a visit on HiKorea
Most immigration offices need a visit reservation. Here is how to book on HiKorea, what to bring, and which tasks you can do online instead.
Most immigration offices in Korea need a visit reservation (방문 예약) before you go. You make it on the HiKorea website (www.hikorea.go.kr). Without a reservation, you may not be served that day.
How to book, step by step
- 1
Log in or sign up
Go to www.hikorea.go.kr and log in. If it is your first time, sign up as a member first.
- 2
Choose “Visit reservation”
Find the visit reservation menu on the site.
- 3
Select your office
Choose the immigration office in charge of your address. If you go to the wrong office, you may not be served.
- 4
Choose the task
Select the type of task, for example alien registration, extension of stay or change of status.
- 5
Pick a date and time
Choose an open slot. If there are none, check again later.
- 6
Check the confirmation
Check the office, date, time and task. Save or print the confirmation and bring it with you.
What to bring
- Your reservation confirmation (printed or on your phone)
- Passport and ARC (if you have one)
- Completed application form
- All documents for your task, as listed on HiKorea
- A photo, if your task needs one
- Fee (check the current fee for your task)
Tips
- Slots fill up fast. If none are open, check again later for cancellations.
- Book early, especially before a deadline such as the end of your period of stay.
- Arrive a little early on the day.
- Usually one reservation is for one task for one person. If you have more tasks or are going with family, check whether you need more reservations.
- If you cannot go, cancel your reservation so someone else can use the slot.
Can you do it online instead?
Some tasks can be done with HiKorea e-application (전자민원), without a visit. Examples include address change, some extensions and part-time work permission. Availability depends on your status, so check HiKorea first.
